Capitol Hospital, Jalandhar has been established with the vision of bringing quality healthcare to the region. Capitol Hospital is a NABH & NABL accredited hospital. Located in the heartland of Punjab.Students of  the Department were taken to the hospital for practical exposure.

Workshop on “NETIQUETTES”

Workshop on Netiquettes was organized by Department of Hospital Administration & Management on 15.03.17.

This workshop is specifically designed to provide the right knowledge to the aspiring Hacking and Cyber Security enthusiasts. This workshop will explore the various means that an intruder has, to gain access to computer resources. It will investigate weaknesses by discussing the theoretical background behind, and whenever possible, actually performing the attack.

Workshop on “Communication Skills”

Workshop on Communication skills was organized by Department of Hospital Administration & Management in collaboration with Functional English Department on 23.02.17.

Mrs. Poonam Singh urged the participants to make use of the workshop to the maximum extent possible in order to enhance their communication skills – both oral and written. During the first session of the workshop, Mrs. Poonam Singh made a presentation on Basic Writing Skills which covered areas like Punctuation, Commonly Confused words and Basic Grammar. After the presentation, the participants were given a few worksheets on these areas and their performance was evaluated and necessary feedback on how to improve these skills was given.

In the second session, a presentation on Business Email Writing, which gave necessary tips and guidelines on drafting formal emails, was followed by the participants’ drafting emails in groups on their own on some given topics.  They were made to read out the drafts and necessary corrections and clarifications were suggested by the resource person.

Workshop on “Microsoft Office Skills”

Workshop on Microsoft skills was organized by Department of Hospital Administration & Management in collaboration with Department of Computer Sciences on 14.02.17. This workshop was designed to make learners familiar with the various Microsoft programs to become ‘power users’ and get the most out of the software they use.

A workshop on Central Sterile Supply Department Practices was organized in  collaboration with Frances Newton Hospital , Ferozepur.

The motive was to demonstrate the various sterilization techniques used in the hospital.

The students of the department were taken to the Capitol Hospital, Jalandhar, NABH & NABL accredited Hospital for training purposes. The students were taught about the latest technology in cancer treatment True Beam system. True Beam machine is a fully integrated system for image-guided radiotherapy and radio surgery.

Industrial training at “Anil Baghi Hospital, Ferozepur” from 17.12.2016 to 31.12.2016

The students of the department underwent the training program at Anil Baghi Hospital, Ferozepur for a period of 15 days. The students observed the functioning and management of various departments of the hospital like: Outpatient Services, Policy and Procedures, Organization, Staffing, Equipment and Facilities.

They were also trained on Quality Indicators, Planning and Scheduling of Work, Time Management.

State level workshop on Cancer Awareness And Prevention

Every year, October is the celebrated as the month of breast cancer awareness across the world. To spread the special messages about the cancer awareness and its prevention, the Department of Hospital Administration and Management organized and takes part in the workshop held to let students know about the risk factors causing cancer.

To make this event more result oriented, the leading tertiary care hospital in the state, Capitol Hospital, Jalandhar willingly took part in this workshop. Cancer specialists of the hospital gave introduction about Cancer, its causes and also on prevention measures. Students also raised questions and satisfied their queries.

Students underwent training  and learnt about the fundamentals of working of different departments of the hospital like: Pharmacy Services, Pharmacy Audit, Physical facilities, Receiving area, Washing area, Preparation area, Cooking area, Storing area, Food Distribution area, Garbage disposal area, Office of Kitchen Manager, Office Kitchen Staff, etc. Also students were shown different latest technologies used in the treatment of cancer.

Medical Ethics are those values that are concerned with the medical field and should be implemented by the professionals.
