Visit to "Sankara Eye Hospital, Ludhiana"


Sankara Eye Hospital, Ludhiana was established in the year 2012 (April). Built in over 2 acres of gifted land, the hospital is having 125 beds in total where 100 are dedicated for the free patients and 25 rooms for the paying patients. At present the hospital employs over 10 Doctors including 8 Ophthalmologist and 83 Administrative and Paramedic Staff.

To give an exposure of working of a charitable hospital, the students of HAM were taken for one day visit to Sankara Eye hospital, Ludhiana on 25.October.2017. The starting was with a powerpoint presentation by Mr. Swaraj, Unit Head, Sankara Eye hospital on 80- 20 Model. Later Ms. Prabhjot Kaur (Head Business Development) and Mr. Gurtej Singh, took the students for round of the hospital.

Enrichment Program on "Quilting Techniques"

Quilting is the process of sewing two or more layers of fabric together to make a thicker padded material, usually to create a quilt or quilted garment. Typically, quilting is done with three layers: the top fabric or quilt top, batting or insulating material and backing material, but many different styles are also adopted.


In collaboration with Fashion Designing Department, an enrichment programme was organized on “Quilting Techniques” on 14.October.2017. The demonstration was given by Mrs. Anchal. She also taught the students as how to make various household articles using quilting technique.
